Flxpoint integrates with suppliers, distributors, and sales platforms to streamline inventory, order processing, and fulfillment. This guide explains the core terms and concepts used throughout Flxpoint.
Source
A Source is the origin point for your inventory and fulfillment data. It connects suppliers, distributors, or systems to Flxpoint and facilitates inventory updates, order processing, and shipment tracking.
What does a Source do?
- Feeds product inventory, pricing, and availability into Flxpoint.
- Processes fulfillment requests and orders routed from Flxpoint.
- Sends shipment tracking information once an order is fulfilled.
- Optionally provides invoices for reconciliation inside Flxpoint.
Examples of Sources:
Sources can include flat files uploaded via FTP, EDI 846 files, API integrations, email attachments, HTTP links, and POS systems.
Channel
A Channel is a sales platform, website, or marketplace that allows you to list products and process orders.
Channels are responsible for:
- Receiving product data from Flxpoint to create and update listings.
- Accepting orders and transmitting them to Flxpoint for fulfillment.
-
Receiving shipment tracking updates once orders are shipped.
Examples:
Popular channels include Shopify, BigCommerce, Amazon, and Walmart, as well as custom integrations via API or flat files.
Reseller
A Reseller acts as a retailer for your products, similar to how you might sell products from distributors. Resellers operate within Flxpoint to expand your product reach by listing your items on their own marketplaces or websites.
This model is commonly used in B2B workflows but can also support hybrid business structures. Resellers leverage Flxpoint’s tools to manage product data, pricing, and order fulfillment seamlessly.
Get Inventory Primary
The Get Inventory Primary function is the first step in importing products from a Source into Flxpoint.
It establishes the Source Inventory Stage, where SKUs begin their lifecycle. Once imported, these SKUs can be enriched with product data, synchronized across channels, and prepared for listing and fulfillment.
This process also ensures inventory updates are continuously synced to maintain accuracy.
Get Orders
The Get Orders feature automates the retrieval of customer orders from sales channels. These orders are imported into Flxpoint, where they are processed and routed to the appropriate fulfillment sources.
Once processed, Flxpoint sends back shipment details and tracking numbers to the sales channel, keeping order data up-to-date.
