Using Owned Inventory

Overview

Manage the inventory you own within Flxpoint!

Before You Get Started

These requirements ensure the destination (internal warehouse) is able to stock inventory from other sources that can provide equivalent items.

  1. must have at least one Source with the Source Type "Internal Warehouse"
  2. Import Source Inventory
  3. Create a Product Catalog with "Eligible Products"

Only an Internal Warehouse is eligible for Stock Replenishment.

Also, to create Source Inventory in Flxpoint you must import data via [Get Inventory Primary]. There is not a way to manually create products in the app.

First Time Stocking for Warehouse (Adding New SKUs)

After an initial upload of inventory, you may want to start stocking a new SKU. Before you can place an order to stock the SKU, you will first need to import the SKU to Flxpoint, so we have a record of it.

If you are only uploading the new SKUs, and excluding those already in Flxpoint, then disable "Archiving" in your Source Settings.

Source Inventory will become "Archived" when archiving is enabled, and you upload inventory where products that exist in Flxpoint are missing.

Otherwise, if you are always uploading all the active SKUs in your warehouse, plus new SKU, then it's your choice on if you'd like to have archiving enabled or disabled.

Inventory is eligible for stocking when the variants are:

  • From an Internal Warehouse
  • Active (Not Archived)
  • Linked to a Product Variant with at least one other Inventory Variant
Optional Setup - Source Address and Shipping Policies & Methods

To save time, add a Source Address and set up the Shipping Policies & Methods.

  • Add the Source Address to make it quick and easy to select the address for the stocking items to be delivered to.
  • Add Shipping Policies & Shipping Methods to auto-select the corresponding shipping method for sources while building a Stocking Manifest.

Select Internal Warehouse for Stocking

The easiest way to identify the "Internal Warehouse" that need stock replenishment is by searching and filtering your Source Inventory.

For example, apply filters to find SKUs in your internal warehouse that have low inventory.

Stock Replenishment (Stocking Manifest)

A Stocking Manifest is a record of the Stocking Fulfillment Requests (SFR) and/or Transfer Order (TO) generated to replenish inventory to an internal warehouse.

To create and submit an order to replenish, you will need to:

Make sure to have a Send Fulfillment Requests/fulfillment orders integration configured for the Source(s) fulfilling the Stocking Manifest to process the Stocking Fulfillment Request(s) and/or Transfer Order(s).

Manage Inventory Quantity

There are two ways to Manage Inventory Quantity for Owned Inventory.

Sync Quantity via Integration or API

    1. Sync quantity via [Get Inventory Primary] or [Get Inventory Secondary] integration, or using a POST or PUT request if using the API.
  1. Manually Adjust Quantity and Commit Stock

    1. Manually adjust quantity by entering the quantity that was "received" at an Internal Warehouse as a result of a Stocking FR or Transfer Order. This will increase the In Stock Quantity of the inventory variant.
    2. This can be done on the Stocking Manifest or SPO/TO on a global or individual item basis.

In addition, you may use Committed Stock to decrease In Stock Quantity when you receive new Fulfillment Requests or Transfer Orders to be fulfilled by your Internal Warehouse.
