Channel Listings

Overview

Listings are created for specific channels and are connected to product variants.

Much like product variants, listing variants can have customized product content, pricing, and quantity data. This is especially useful for channel-specific requirements such as marketplace categories.

The term "listings" generally refers to both listing parents and variants.

How to Create Listings

Listings are created by going through the create listings process. In this process, existing product variants are built into listings for a specific channel. This process allows you to further customize the data or build a listing without additional modifications.

Similarly to product variants, listing variant data is broken down into two sections:

Product content does not change for a listing, even if the associated product variant content does. For changed product content data to flow into a listing, a rebuild must be completed. See Create Listings for details around this.

Listing pricing and quantity is updated as product variant pricing and quantity data is updated.

How Are Listings Used?

Listings are best explained as an association between your product variants and external items on a specific sales channel. Once listings are built, you link (or connect) them to those external items on that sales channel.

  • Publishing or overwriting allows you to either create a new listing or overwrite an existing listing's product content
  • Linking a listing allows you to connect to the associated external item on your sales channel
  • Syncing a listing allows you to sync pricing and/or quantity data

Example:

  • A listing has been built, and we attempt to link a listing to an external channel on UPC
  • Now that this listing is linked, we can begin syncing pricing and quantity data
  • Optionally, one could choose to overwrite the listing with the new product content from Flxpoint

Listing Status Workflow

With Listing Status Workflows, you can easily set up workflows to automate certain tasks.

  • For example, if you have brands that cannot be listed on certain channels, you can set it up so that the brand is delisted.
    • Go to said Channel you would like this setup on, and click on the gear icon to the left of Channel
    • Click Listing Status on left > Add Rule
    • "IF 'Listing Parent' Equals X Brand, THEN Delist"

There are other automations that can be setup such as, but not limited to, delisting, hiding, unhiding, publishing listings for brands, channels, etc.
