Claude MCP Connector Setup and Workflows

What it does

The Flxpoint MCP connector allows you to securely connect Claude AI to your live operational data. This enables you to query your account using natural language to generate custom reports, troubleshoot order routing, and analyze vendor performance without leaving the Claude interface.

Note: The V1 beta connector is read-only. It can pull data to provide answers and analysis, but it cannot currently create, edit, or delete data (such as placing orders or updating inventory levels).

How to connect

Flxpoint uses OAuth-based authentication to ensure a secure connection between your account and Claude.

Open Claude (Claude.ai) and navigate to the Customize Connectors or Add Custom Connector menu.
Select the option to add a custom connector via URL.
Enter the Flxpoint MCP endpoint: https://app-backend.flxpoint.com/mcp
You will be redirected to Flxpoint to log in and authorize the connection.
Once authorized, you can manage or disconnect the connection at any time through the Flxpoint UI.

You can use the connector in standard Claude chats or within Claude Code.

Supported data and tools

The connector is scoped to your specific user permissions and provides access to your data through both simple and complex tools:

Complex Search Tools: Perform deep searches across Orders, Purchase Orders, and Invoices.
Simple Data Retrieval: Quickly pull data for Sources, Channels, Shipment SLAs, Orders, Source Invoices, and Fulfillment Requests.
System Context: A built-in document that helps Claude understand Flxpoint-specific terminology like "Source" vs "Channel."

Common use cases

Reporting and analysis

You can ask Claude to generate complex reports that are not available in the standard Flxpoint UI. For example: "Break down my profitability by source for the last 30 days" or "Which of my sources has the most late shipments against our two-day SLA?" Claude can also generate charts or artifacts to visualize this data.

Troubleshooting order routing

If an order is stuck, you can ask: "Why did Order #12345 fail to route?" Claude will read the routing logs and explain the failure (such as a missing shipping method or no available stock) in plain English.

Vendor scorecards

You can use the pre-built workflow prompt /scorecard to trigger a Source Performance Scorecard analysis. Claude will analyze cancellation rates and lead times for specific suppliers, distinguishing between "Voided" (canceled by you before sending) and "Canceled" (rejected by the supplier) to ensure accurate metrics.

Feedback and gap reporting

If you ask Claude a question that the connector cannot currently answer due to data or tool limitations, the system captures this as a "gap." These gaps are reviewed by the Flxpoint product team to help prioritize new features and data points for the connector roadmap.
