Set Quantity to Zero for Specific SKUs From One Source

November 7, 2026

Summary

How to set the Quantity of a list of SKUs to 0 for one source with a List and an Inventory Created/Updated rule, when it applies and how to re-sync, and how this differs from Quantity Lock, Best Source Quantity Minimum and Do Not Import.

You can set the Quantity of chosen SKUs to 0 for one source. You do it with a rule in that source's Inventory Created/Updated workflow that checks the SKU against a List. The rule belongs to that one source, so other sources that carry the same SKUs are not changed.

  1. Make a List of the SKUs. Click Settings (gear icon at the bottom of the left menu) > Mapping Utilities > Lists > New List. Open the list and click Add Value(s) to type SKUs, or Upload to add them from a file.
  2. Click Sources (building icon in the left menu), click the gear icon on the source, then Workflows > Inventory Created/Updated.
  3. Click Add Rule and give it a Rule Name.
  4. Under If, choose the SKU field (Inventory SKU), the In List comparison, and your List. To match on MPN, choose the MPN field instead.
  5. Under Then..., choose the Quantity field and set it to 0.
  6. Click Save Rule, then Update.
  7. A window asks Re-Sync Inventory With New Inventory Created/Updated Workflow? Leave Re-Sync on and click Save and Re-Sync.

The rule runs when inventory from this source is created or updated. Because it runs on every update, the Quantity stays 0 when the supplier sends a new number for those SKUs.

Inventory that is already in Flxpoint changes only after a re-sync. If you choose Don't Re-Sync, the change takes effect only when the inventory is next updated. You can re-sync later: open Inventory Created/Updated on the source and click Manual Re-Sync. That button is turned off while the workflow is a draft.

Note: The If condition picks a saved List. It cannot take SKUs typed or pasted into the rule. Add new SKUs to the List and run a re-sync.

Set one item to a fixed quantityQuantity Lock. Open the item (a variant in Product Catalog, or a listing in Channel Listings) and click the lock button beside Quantity. The window shows the Actual Quantity and a Locked Quantity. It is one item at a time.
Ignore a source on a channel when its stock is low, for all of that source's SKUsOn a channel that uses the Best Source strategy, set Quantity Minimum for the source: Channels > gear icon on the channel > Pricing / Quantity. When a source's quantity drops below this value, that source is left out of Best Source. It is one number per source, not a list of SKUs, and it does not set any quantity to 0.
Stop importing certain SKUsA Do Not Import rule. It skips the item when it is imported. It does not set a quantity to 0.
