Ship From Address on Shipping Labels
Summary
Where the ship-from address on a shipping label comes from (the source's address), how to fix a missing one, and why sources made in bulk often have none.
When you buy a shipping label for a fulfillment request, the Ship From Address is the address saved on the source. Your company information under Settings is not used, and the label window has no other ship-from setting.
- Open Orders (tray icon) and click the order.
- In Fulfillment Requests, open Actions on the request's card and click Buy Shipping Label. The same action is on the fulfillment request's own page.
The action is offered while the order is open, the request is Unprocessed and a provider account is connected under Settings > Orders > Shipping Labels.
- No Address Provided: the source has no address, and Check Shipping Rates stays greyed out.
- A red icon next to Ship From Address: it lists what is missing, such as Address, City, State, Postal Code, Country, First Name, Last Name or Phone.
- Open Sources (building icon), click the gear icon on the source and choose Address.
- Fill in Address 1, City, State, Postal Code, Country and Country Code, and under Contact Information add First Name, Last Name and Phone.
- Click Update, then open Buy Shipping Label again.
To fix it for one label only, click the pencil next to Ship From Address in the label window, complete the address and click Update. That change does not touch the source.
I fixed the source address but the label window still shows the old one?
Use the pencil next to Ship From Address to set it for that label.
Can I export my sources with their ship-from addresses?
Not from the app. The Sources list has no Export, and Sources > Vendors > Actions > Export lists vendors and their sources without addresses. Each source's address is on its own Address tab.
