Ashley Furniture as a Source

July 17, 2026

Summary

Ashley Furniture is one of the largest furniture manufacturers and wholesalers, offering an extensive home furnishings catalog spanning furniture, bedding, dΓ©cor, and accessories. The Flxpoint integration supports two connection types β€” FTP (Basic Auth) using FTP Protocol, Host, Port, User and Password, or Ashley Furniture API using External ID, Keycode, Password and User Name. The integration runs Get Inventory (Primary daily for the full catalog, Secondary for frequent quantity refreshes), Send Fulfillment Requests, and Get Shipments; large furniture items may ship via freight (LTL). For operation-level mapping guidance contact support@flxpoint.com.

Get Inventory (Primary)
Imports the full Ashley Furniture catalog daily β€” products, pricing, and quantity.
Get Inventory (Secondary)
A lighter, frequent refresh of quantity only for existing SKUs.
Send Fulfillment Requests
Sends orders (Fulfillment Requests) to Ashley Furniture for dropship fulfillment.
Get Shipments
Pulls Ashley Furniture tracking numbers and ship dates back into Flxpoint.

Ashley Furniture supports two connection types. Use the one your Ashley Furniture representative specifies for your account. Add an Ashley Furniture source, start configuring an operation, and when Flxpoint prompts you click + New Connection, enter the values, then Test ConnectionSave Connection.

Option A β€” FTP (Basic Auth)
FTP ProtocolRequired
The FTP protocol to use (FTP or FTPS), as provided by Ashley Furniture.
HostRequired
The Ashley Furniture FTP server hostname.
PortRequired
The FTP port for the connection.
UserRequired
Your Ashley Furniture FTP username.
PasswordRequired
Your Ashley Furniture FTP password.
Option B β€” Ashley Furniture API
External IDRequired
Your Ashley Furniture External ID, provided by your Ashley Furniture representative.
KeycodeRequired
Your Ashley Furniture Keycode, provided alongside your External ID β€” separate from any Ashley website login.
User NameRequired
Your Ashley Furniture API user name.
PasswordRequired
Your Ashley Furniture API password.
Both connection types include Advanced Settings: Maintain Constant Connection (optional) and Use Unbuffered Private Data Channel β€” enable the latter only if FTPS Test Connection fails with a 534 SSL policy error. For extended operation setup and field mapping beyond connection, contact support@flxpoint.com.

Two connection types β€” FTP (Basic Auth) or Ashley Furniture API (External ID + Keycode)

The Ashley Furniture connection supports: FTP (Basic Auth) β€” requires FTP Protocol, Host, Port, User, and Password, with Advanced Settings for Maintain Constant Connection and Use Unbuffered Private Data Channel; and Ashley Furniture API β€” requires External ID, Keycode, Password, and User Name. Confirm with your Ashley Furniture representative which method your account is provisioned for. API credentials are separate from any Ashley website login.

Ashley Furniture is a large catalog β€” expect significant first GIP run time

Ashley Furniture carries an extensive home furnishings catalog including furniture, bedding, dΓ©cor, and accessories. The first GIP run imports the full catalog and may take longer than typical sources. Schedule the initial run during off-peak hours. Large furniture items may ship via freight (LTL) β€” confirm carrier and shipping method codes with Ashley Furniture before configuring Send Fulfillment Requests.

GIP daily for full catalog; GIS more frequently for delta updates β€” Archive on one job only

Run Get Inventory Primary once daily to import new and updated catalog data. Use Get Inventory Secondary on a more frequent schedule for pricing and quantity refreshes. Enable Archive/Un-Archive on one job only β€” enabling it on both GIP and GIS simultaneously creates conflicting archive states and may cause mass-archiving of large furniture catalogs.

API Test Connection failing β€” credentials incorrect or account not provisioned
If the Ashley Furniture API Test Connection fails: (1) confirm External ID, Keycode, Password, and User Name are entered exactly as provided by Ashley β€” these are API-specific credentials separate from any Ashley website login; (2) confirm with your Ashley Furniture representative that API access is enabled for your account and that the credentials are active; (3) if using FTP and seeing a 534 SSL policy error on FTPS, enable Use Unbuffered Private Data Channel in Advanced Settings. Contact Flxpoint Support at support@flxpoint.com if the issue persists.
Large furniture catalog β€” GIP timing out or running slowly
Ashley Furniture's catalog is very large. If GIP is slow or times out: (1) schedule GIP to run during off-peak hours (overnight UTC); (2) do not cancel a GIP run mid-way β€” partial imports can leave orphaned products; (3) after the first full GIP run completes, subsequent runs are faster as they only process changes; (4) if GIP consistently times out without completing, contact Flxpoint Support at support@flxpoint.com to discuss catalog batching options for your account.

Which connection type should I use β€” FTP or Ashley Furniture API?
Both connection types access Ashley Furniture data but via different methods. FTP (Basic Auth) uses standard FTP file retrieval and is suitable if Ashley has provisioned an FTP feed for your account. Ashley Furniture API uses direct API authentication (External ID, Keycode, Password, User Name) and may provide more timely pricing and inventory data. Confirm with your Ashley Furniture account representative which method your account is set up for. If you have both available, the API connection is generally preferred for fresher data.
What operations does Ashley Furniture support in Flxpoint?
Ashley Furniture supports automated inventory synchronization (GIP, GIS) and order fulfillment (Send FR, Get Shipments). The integration enables you to import Ashley's product catalog, keep inventory levels current, submit dropship orders to Ashley, and retrieve shipment tracking. For specific field mappings, required Send FR fields, and any Ashley-specific order type or carrier configurations, contact Flxpoint Support at support@flxpoint.com.
