Deleting Products
Summary
How to delete individual products or clear the entire catalog, and what happens to variants and channel listings when you do.
You can delete products individually from the Product Catalog, or clear the entire catalog at once. Deletions cascade: removing a parent removes all of its variants, and removing the last variant removes the parent. Deleting a linked product also abandons its channel listing and stops price and quantity sync, so it is best to delist a product before deleting it.
Delete products from the Product Catalog via Actions → Delete. Because deletions cascade and can abandon live channel listings, delist a product first whenever possible.
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Delete a parent | Deletes all of its variants. |
| Delete the last variant | Deletes the parent. |
| Delete a product | Deletes its channel listing, even if the listing is linked. |
What happens to the channel listing when I delete a product?
Deleting a linked product abandons the listing on the channel and stops price and quantity sync. Delist first if you want a clean removal.
If I delete a parent, do the variants go too?
Yes. Deleting a parent deletes all of its variants, and deleting the last variant deletes the parent.
How do I delete in bulk?
Select products in the Product Catalog, choose Actions → Delete, and confirm by typing "I UNDERSTAND" and the product count.
