Marking Products as Unshippable
October 2, 2026
Summary
Learn how to prevent specific products from being fulfilled by marking them as unshippable in the Master Catalog or Source Inventory.
What it does
Marking a product as unshippable prevents Flxpoint from generating fulfillment requests for that specific item. This is typically used for items that are for display only, digital products handled outside the platform, or products that have been recalled but should remain in your catalog for data purposes.
How to mark a product unshippable
- Navigate to the Master Catalog or Source Inventory tab.
- Search for and click on the specific SKU to open the product detail page.
- Locate the Shipping or Status settings section (depending on your view).
- Toggle the Shippable setting to off, or select Unshippable from the status dropdown.
- Save your changes.
Effects on order routing
When a product is marked as unshippable at the catalog level, the following behaviors occur:
- Fulfillment Requests (FRs): Flxpoint will not include these items when generating fulfillment requests for a source.
- DOM Routing: The Distributed Order Management system will bypass these items during the routing process, even if a source shows quantity available.
- Order Status: Orders containing only unshippable items will typically move to a status requiring manual intervention, as they cannot be fully routed for fulfillment.
Product vs. Order level settings
It is important to distinguish between marking a product unshippable and marking a line item as non-shippable during order import.
| Setting | Scope | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| Product Unshippable | Permanent (Catalog) | Items that can never be fulfilled by a source (e.g., service fees). |
| Line Item Non-shippable | Per Order | One-off scenarios where a specific customer order should not be shipped. |
Note: Marking a product as unshippable does not automatically remove it from your sales channels. You must still manage the listing status if you wish to stop selling the item entirely.
