Inventory Term Explanation
There are multiple values used to determine the Available Quantity for a variant:
- Total Quantity — The last quantity value imported from the source after applying any mapping rules.
- Committed Quantity — The # of items reserved on active Fulfillment Requests that are waiting to be shipped, and potentially also waiting for a change in quantity.
- Reserves quantity — Committed Quantity is decremented from In Stock when a fulfillment request is generated.
- Prevents overselling — the channel sees only the Available Quantity that can still be committed.
- Released on update — commitments release after a quantity update or shipment import.
- Enabled per source — opt in on a source's settings; it is not retroactive.
Deducts the available inventory quantity within Flxpoint after an order is imported and a Fulfillment Request is generated.

Overselling on a specific SKU — available at checkout but unfulfillable. A repeating single-SKU oversell points to a committed-stock misconfiguration or sync lag on that item. Confirm committed stock is configured for that source and that the source updates quantity so commitments actually release.
Available Quantity is lower than the source shows, with no open orders. Hover Available Quantity to see In Stock vs Committed. Committed stock that never released usually means the source is not updating quantity — committed stock should not be enabled on that kind of source.
