Advanced Linking & Syncing for Channel Listings
Summary
Link listings to matching channel items, set linking priority, force and schedule syncs, and manage the sync job queue for large multi-channel inventories.
Linking connects your listings to the matching items on a channel; syncing keeps pricing, quantity, and status current. Advanced controls let you set linking priority, force syncs, schedule them, and manage the job queue across large multi-channel inventories.
- In channel setup Step 2, choose the listing and channel fields (usually SKU or UPC) that must match exactly to link.
- Push a full update for selected listings via Actions → Force Sync, even if nothing changed.
- Automate syncs from the channel’s calendar icon at your chosen frequency.
- Prioritize, cancel, and monitor sync jobs in the Jobs tab.
| Concept | What to know |
|---|---|
| Match fields must be exact | The listing variant value and channel variant value (for example SKU or UPC) must match exactly for a link to succeed. |
| Link After Building | A channel toggle that auto-links new listings after a build. If off, you must Re-Link before you can overwrite or sync. |
| Re-Link Listings | Only acts on listings whose status is Unlinked. It does not touch already-linked listings. |
| Rebuild and links | Rebuilding keeps existing links; no new link action is performed. |
A listing will not link and Publish tries to create a duplicate instead
If a listing sits at Not Listed with no link attempted, Publish/Overwrite will try to create a new channel product and can fail with a duplicate-SKU error. Confirm your linking priority fields match exactly on both sides, that the channel item exists in Flxpoint’s index (Import Listings may be needed to bring it in), and that the listing is Unlinked so Re-Link can act on it. Re-Link acts only on Unlinked listings.
Re-Link Listings is greyed out
Re-Link is greyed out when you have one or more listing SKUs selected. It runs across all Unlinked SKUs automatically, so a selection is not required - clear the SKU selection and Re-Link becomes available.
A sync job failed
Open the Jobs tab, find the failed sync, and review the error (often a variant SKU or missing field). Fix the data, then use Actions → Re-run Job.
When do I need to Re-Link?
When you did not set a linking priority during setup, or a link broke because a SKU changed on the channel. Re-Link acts only on Unlinked listings.
Does Force Sync update titles and images?
No. Force Sync updates pricing, quantity, and status. Use Publish / Overwrite for static content.
