Channel Listing Errors: What They Mean and What to Do
Summary
The listing states and the Shopify, Sync Listings and login messages customers see most, what each means and what to do, read from the platform code.
Open Products (tag icon) > Channel Listings and click the listing. The exact message is in its Publish Errors or Sync Errors box. Hover the Status icon on a row to see its state. Messages that start with a channel's words (Shopify, Amazon) are that channel's own reply, passed through by Flxpoint.
| State | What it means and what to do |
|---|---|
| No Link Attempted | No link step has ever run on the listing. It is not an error: run Re-Link Listings. |
| Pending Publish | A publish is queued and waits for the next Publish Listings run. It does not go out while the listing or the channel is paused. |
| Broken Link | The listing was linked, but the channel no longer has it. Re-create it on the channel or remove the listing. |
| Master SKU is missing | The listing is not tied to a catalog variant, so it has no price or quantity to send. Link it or remove it. |
| Content / Price/Qty Syncing Error | The last content or price and quantity update failed. The reason is in the listing's error box. |
productlock ... LockAcquireTimeout
Shopify had the product locked by another operation and could not update it in time. It usually clears on the next publish run. To retry now, select the listing and use Actions > With Selected listings > Clear Errors.
Key must be unique within this namespace on this resource
Two custom fields (metafields) with the same namespace and key were sent for one variant. Make each namespace and key appear only once in the channel's Publish Listings mapping template, then Clear Errors.
Max retry attempts exceeded
Several requests to Shopify failed in a row, usually throttling or an error on Shopify's side. Clear Errors to retry.
Daily variant creation limit reached
Shopify's own daily limit on new variants. Publishing resumes after it resets, and the remaining listings stay Pending Publish. Only Shopify can raise the limit.
- Failed to start Sync Listings for this channel: the run could not begin, usually because the channel login was refused. Update the connection on the channel's operation and run it again.
- Failed to run (or end) Sync Listings for this channel: the message only says which step broke. Flxpoint support reads the job log to find why.
- Unauthorized or Unable to Generate the Auth Token (GunBroker), incorrect store hash (BigCommerce): the channel refused the saved login. Update the credentials on the connection and save.
