Explains how building and rebuilding channel listings works from product variants and mapping templates, including required inputs, build statuses, recent builder changes, and common issues.

OVERVIEW

Building creates channel listings from existing product variants, applying a mapping template so product data lands in the fields a channel expects. Rebuilding overwrites a listing's content with updated product data or a different template.

Build from the catalog — Select variants in the Product Catalog and click Create Listings to build for a channel.
Mapping template — Controls how product variant data flows into listing fields; the first build uses the default template, later builds reuse the most recent one.
Rebuild — Overwrite listing content with updated product data via Actions → Re-Build.
Stop building — Remove items stuck in Building for a channel via Actions → Stop Building → Remove From Queue.

REQUIRED INPUTS

Input	Description
Channel	Destination where the listings are created.
Mapping Template	Defines how product fields populate listing fields for that channel.
Link After Build (optional)	Recommended: links the new listings to the channel after building.

BUILD STATUSES

Status	Meaning
Building	Listings are being created for one or more channels.
Linked to Channel	Completed for a single channel; others may still be building.
Linked to All Channels	Completed across every selected channel.

When you build across multiple channels, status stays Building until all selected channels finish, then becomes Linked to All Channels.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Note: Master SKU is no longer a Listing Builder field. It was removed because mapping on it could group variants incorrectly, producing listings with the wrong quantity and price for bundles. Map on each variant's own identifier (its SKU) instead. If you previously mapped on Master SKU, update those templates and Rebuild the affected listings.

Note: Variant and parent image fields were removed from the builder. Individual variant image and parent image fields are no longer mappable in the Listing Builder or on Rebuild. The identifier field is now labeled SKU throughout; older Variant SKU and Listing Product Option labels were removed.

Note: Rebuild is a static-content refresh. It overwrites listing content from the current product data. Pricing and quantity do not need a rebuild; they sync automatically.

COMMON ISSUES

Rebuilding from the Edit screen uses the default builder and template instead of the chosen one

Rebuilding from the Product/Inventory view applies the selected builder and mapping rules, but rebuilding from within the Edit screen has been reported to fall back to the default builder and skip mapping-template rules. This is being tracked as a bug; rebuild from the Product Catalog / Inventory view to ensure your chosen builder and rules apply.

Listings are stuck in Building

Use Actions → Stop Building from the Product Catalog, select the channel, and choose Remove From Queue. Then re-run Create Listings for that channel.

Wrong quantity or price on bundle listings

This is the Master SKU mapping problem described above. Update the Listing Builder template to map on the variant's own SKU rather than Master SKU, then Rebuild the affected listings.

FAQS

Can I build from the parent or the variant level?

Both. From variant level only the selected variants load; from parent level all associated variants load.

Which mapping template is used when I build?

The most recent template applied to that channel; the first build on a channel uses the default template.

Does rebuilding change my links?

No. Rebuilt listings keep their existing links; rebuild does not perform a new link action.

Can I automate rebuilds after inventory updates?

Rebuild scheduling is configured per your workflow. If a scheduled rebuild or a follow-on publish is not behaving as expected, confirm the schedule order and contact support.
