MAP Violation Action Guide
Summary
A MAP violation happens when a product is advertised below the manufacturer's minimum; Flxpoint does not monitor MAP automatically, so you correct the advertised price in Flxpoint after a manufacturer notice.
A MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) violation happens when a product is advertised below the manufacturer's minimum. Flxpoint does not monitor or detect MAP violations; manufacturers or their representatives notify you, and you then use Flxpoint to correct the advertised price on your listings.
- No automatic monitoring: Flxpoint does not flag MAP violations; you act after receiving a notice.
- Correct pricing: use the listing module to update the advertised price to meet MAP.
- Audit regularly: routine manual price audits help prevent discrepancies across channels.
- Keep partners informed: share current price lists and MAP policies with distributors and resellers.
- Review the notice: the notice (from the manufacturer or a rep) should list the date, product, UPC, SKU, current advertised price, and required MAP.
- Analyze the discrepancy: identify the affected listing and whether the cause is outdated pricing, a manual error, or stale distributor data.
- Update in Flxpoint: use the listing module to adjust the advertised price to meet MAP. If distributor data is stale, get an updated price list first.
- Escalate if repeated: for recurring or unresolved violations, involve your compliance or brand-protection team.
You received a MAP violation notice.
Does Flxpoint detect MAP violations automatically?
Where do I fix the price?
What it does
List Price Protection is a safety setting that prevents Flxpoint from syncing listings to your sales channel when they meet specific high-risk criteria. By enabling this, you ensure that listings only go live when they have valid cost data, accurate inventory links, and a profitable margin.
Protected conditions
When this setting is active, Flxpoint will block a listing sync if any of the following conditions are met:
Missing or Zero Cost: The estimated cost for the product is missing or recorded as zero.
Low List Price: The list price is lower than or equal to the estimated cost (meaning the item would sell at a loss or zero margin).
Missing Inventory: The listing has no linked inventory from a source.
How to enable
Navigate to your Sales Channels and select the specific channel you wish to configure.
Go to the Channel Settings or Sync Rules area (typically under Pricing & Quantity configurations).
Locate the List Price Protection toggle.
Ensure the setting is enabled to enforce these guardrails during the next sync job.
Note: If a listing is blocked by this feature, it will typically remain in an Out of Stock or Error state on your sales channel until the underlying data (such as cost or inventory link) is corrected in Flxpoint.
