Top Dawg as a Source

July 20, 2026

Summary

Top Dawg is a pet supplies distributor available as a source in Flxpoint for automated inventory management and order fulfillment. The integration connects via a single API connection using a token provided by Top Dawg, and supports Get Inventory (Primary), Send Fulfillment Requests, and Get Shipments. For specific credential requirements, extended operation configuration, or mapping template guidance, contact support@flxpoint.com.

Get Inventory (Primary)
Imports Top Dawg's pet supplies catalog — products, pricing and quantity.
Send Fulfillment Requests
Sends dropship orders (Fulfillment Requests) to Top Dawg.
Get Shipments
Pulls Top Dawg shipment confirmations — tracking and ship date — into Flxpoint.

Top Dawg connects via a single API connection. Add a Top Dawg source, start configuring an operation, and when Flxpoint prompts you click + New Connection, enter the API token provided by Top Dawg, then Test ConnectionSave Connection. The same connection is reused by every Top Dawg operation — you won't need to re-enter credentials for each one.

API TokenRequired
The API token provided by Top Dawg. Contact your Top Dawg account representative or dealer support to request API access — these credentials are separate from any Top Dawg website login.
The same Top Dawg connection is reused by every operation — you configure it once, on your first operation. For specific credential requirements or extended operation configuration, contact support@flxpoint.com.

API credentials come from Top Dawg — contact their team before configuring

The Top Dawg connection requires API credentials provided directly by Top Dawg. Contact your Top Dawg account representative or their dealer support to request API access before setting up the integration in Flxpoint. These credentials are separate from any Top Dawg website login.

Extended documentation for this integration — including field mapping recommendations for Send FR and Get Shipments — is available from Flxpoint Support. Email support@flxpoint.com to get configuration guidance specific to your Top Dawg account.

Enable Archive/Un-Archive on one inventory job only — not both GIP and GIS

If you enable Archive/Un-Archive on both GIP and GIS simultaneously, products may be archived by one job and un-archived by the other in the same run window, causing unpredictable inventory status flips. Configure Archive/Un-Archive on GIP only, and use GIS for more frequent quantity and pricing refreshes without archiving logic.

Map SKU, Quantity, and full ship-to address for Send FR — test manually first

Send Fulfillment Requests to Top Dawg requires at minimum: SKU, Quantity, and a complete shipping address (Address Line 1, City, State, Postal Code, Country). Run a single manual order first to confirm the mapping and verify the order is received at Top Dawg before enabling automatic scheduling.

Test Connection failing
If Test Connection fails: (1) re-enter the API credentials exactly as provided by Top Dawg — check for trailing spaces or incorrect formatting; (2) if credentials were recently issued, allow a few minutes before retrying; (3) confirm with Top Dawg that API access has been activated for your dealer account — some account tiers require a separate request to enable API access. If the connection still fails after these checks, contact Flxpoint Support with the error message from Test Connection.
GIP running but no products importing
If GIP runs without error but no products appear in source inventory: (1) confirm a Mapping Template is selected and saved for the GIP operation — without a template, no data is written; (2) verify SKU and Quantity fields are mapped in the template; (3) if Archive/Un-Archive is enabled, check whether products are being archived immediately due to a zero-quantity feed; (4) check the integration job log for warnings about missing required fields. Contact Flxpoint Support with the job log if the issue persists.

How do I connect Top Dawg as a source in Flxpoint?
Go to Sources → + Add Source and complete the Source Wizard to create a Vendor Warehouse source. After saving, go to Integrations → Get Inventory → Start Creating Integrations and select Top Dawg. Enter your Connection Name and the API credentials provided by Top Dawg. Click Test Connection, then Save Connection. The same connection card is reused by all Top Dawg operations — you won't need to re-enter credentials for each operation.
What fields should I map for Get Shipments?
For Get Shipments, map at minimum: Tracking Number and Fulfillment Request Number (to link shipments to orders). Also map Carrier, Shipped At (ship date), and item-level SKU and Quantity Shipped. The Fulfillment Request Number is the critical link — if this mapping is incorrect, shipments will not attach to the right orders. For field-by-field mapping guidance specific to the Top Dawg API response format, contact Flxpoint Support at support@flxpoint.com.
